Mastering Proactive Policing for Patrol is the elite proactive patrol course built for officers who want to develop the skills that catch criminals others miss. Taught by Craig Meyer, an active proactive patrol expert, the course is anchored to tactics that have been pressure-tested on real streets. The course is for officers who want to be apex proactive patrol officers, not theoretical academics.
The course is organized around three major themes. The conceptual foundation, covering the Proactive Pyramid (observation, contact, articulation) and the Combo Freeze Mode. The pre-action behaviors and nonverbal indicators that proactive officers learn to read, including nonverbal distancing, eye blocking, pacifying behaviors, verbal distancing, and center-of-gravity analysis. And the tactical specifics for common patrol scenarios, including parked occupied vehicles, drive-thrus and parking lots, refusing to exit, passenger side approaches, wanted fugitives, gaining admissions of probable cause and consent, and foot patrol tactics.
After completing this course, you will be able to read pre-action behaviors in real time, time your contacts to the indicators, work geometry that maximizes safety and information gathering, navigate the legal framework that wraps around proactive policing, and articulate every contact in a way that survives suppression. You will leave with the toolkit that turns ordinary patrol into proactive case-making.
